Robert Baxter began his career as an engineering aid-draftsman in the oil field industry. In 1978, he was invited to assist a North Texas swimming pool company to assist in solving a "problem," was intrigued by the work, and established Texas Waterworks in 1982. His resume includes a broad spectrum of constructing residential swimming pools and commercial aquatic venues. Project diversity has included water parks, amusement rides, aquariums, zoo wildlife exhibits, and rough water training courses.
In 2012, Baxter presumed to be "retiring," closing Texas Waterworks. However, his former clients and industry peers have continued to keep him busy with opportunities to serve as a consultant in various roles of construction management, as the owner's representative, and providing construction compliance / quality assurance assessment.
